What Is "Team 12"?

“To prepare, organize, and motivate those

interested in electing a Republican President in 2012.”


 

The Hamilton County Republican Party is beginning preparations for the 2012 election cycle and our focus will be on a concept we've created called "Team 12.”

 

We are starting Team 12 because of our prior experiences with recent presidential contests.  Many of us have been working on presidential elections for several cycles and we have learned some important lessons. We want to put those lessons to work to win back the White House in 2012.

 

Given that our party is headed for a hotly contested presidential primary, I believe that we should prepare and put in place an infrastructure that will be ready to serve the grassroots needs of the Republican presidential candidate in 2012.  Even before there is a nominee, our Team 12 will be ready to support that nominee on the ground in Hamilton County.

 

How will we do this?  

 

In 2009, our party prepared and distributed our "Power Precinct Program" manual.  This manual is a compilation of best practices for precinct executives to use to energize their precinct at the grassroots level.  The PPP worked well for us in 2009, but it can work much better in a presidential election where citizens are highly motivated to elect a President.   

 

Our Team 12 program will seek to do the following:
 

  • Organize a committed volunteer in every precinct in Hamilton County who will work the Power Precinct Program.  That volunteer need not be the precinct executive, but can be.   

  • Ask that volunteer to commit to support the efforts of the presidential candidate--whoever that might be.

  • Ask that volunteer to provide us with contact information that can be shared across the network and with the presidential campaign.

  • Build a social network communication strategy to keep Team members informed and to energize our effort.

  • Win Hamilton County for the presidential candidate. 
     

By using an online database to track our Team, we hope to bring in all interested groups who want to participate to elect a new president.  It is our hope that we can receive support from many interested groups including the Tea Party movement and any other individual group motivated to defeat President Obama and to elect a new president who is true to our core American values.  By using the Hamilton County GOP as a central clearinghouse for grassroots activity by every interested group, we can be more efficient in our operations and support the Republican presidential campaign in the best way possible.  By organizing early, we can present our prepared infrastructure to whomever the nominee of the party is and however late in 2012 that happens.

As 2012 unfolds, we will be conducting regular training and information sessions throughout the county in order to spread the word about, and gain momentum for, this project.
