Primary Election - Voter Turnout Low

Board of Elections officials predict low turnout on Election Day. The Hamilton County Republican Party is watching numerous important Primary races.
Statewide, Dave Yost and Seth Morgan are running in Primary for State Auditor. The winner of this seat will take on Hamilton County Commissioner David Pepper in November. There is an additional Primary race for the Secretary of State seat. Jon Husted is running against Sandra O'Brien. Both Yost and Husted were endorsed by the Ohio Republican Party.
Locally, we are watching the outcomes of the 28th House District, the Seventh Senate District and the Hamilton County Commission. There are three candidates running for the 28th House District: Vicky Zwissler of Wyoming, Mike Wilson of Springfield Township and Tom Weidman of Sycamore Township. The winner of this primary race will take on Democratic Incumbent Connie Pillich. The Seventh Senate seat is currently held by Shannon Jones and she is being challenged by former State Rep. Michelle Schneider. Lastly, Councilmembers Ghiz and Monzel are running against each other in a Primary for the seat currently held by David Pepper. He will be vacating his current seat due to his bid for State Auditor. The Hamilton County Republican Party did not endorse in any of the above races.
